Here are some of the non-canine creatures that help to round out life here at Briallu! They share our home and our hearts..........
Bunnies
Spring 2011 - Best In Show
Piper, with a little help from Rich and me, maintains a herd of beautiful and award winning Mini Rex rabbits, which she and I enjoy caring for and showing at ARBA rabbit shows and conventions. The vast majority of our adult Mini Rex are ARBA registered grand champions. In 2010 we added Florida Whites as our second breed of rabbits. We are thrilled at our success on the show table with both of our breeds.

Cats
Poco - Summer 2010 - 15 years old
We currently share our lives with two beautiful rescue cats, Natasha and Mitzi.
Mitzi joined our family on February 3, 2012. She is an adorable, furry, calico girl. She came to live with us from a couple in western PA who took her in from being a stray. It is almost impossible to believe that a cat this sweet and affectionate could have ever lived on the street, having and losing litters of kittens while she fended for herself. She is the friendliest cat I have ever owned.
Natasha joined our household in the summer of 2012. We journeyed to VA to adopt her from a wonderful veterinary clinic that took her and her two kittens in, after rescuing them from roaming on a local farm. She was a very young mother kitty abandoned and living on her own with her kittens. Originally she was imagined to be a siamese mix. As she has matured and blossomed, she has filled out, and her coat has gotten quite long. We now believe she is a rag doll cat!
We had to say good-bye to our fabulous cat, Poco, on March 28, 2012. He shared our lives for 16 1/2 years. Poco was born in the Spring of 1995, and we adopted him from a shelter when he was 6 months old. He was a sociable, friendly, outgoing kitty all the days of his life. Within a few months of losing Poco, we also had to bid farewell to 17 year old Gretta, our sweet gray kittie who came to us in 1994, when we rescued her from the street as a very tiny kitten.
In the summer of 2010 we adopted Bella, a sweet and beautiful girl who we believed to be a Maine Coon Cat. We were absolutely devistated to lose Bella to kidney failure at the end of the summer orf 2011. She was with us for such a short time, but endeared herself to all of us. She was very special to me.

Rat
Puzzle
PUZZLE
We rescued Puzzle after we discovered him roaming around our property and hanging out near our rabbitry. Imagine our surprise as we repeatedly saw this white rat with his puzzle-piece blue face markings darting around our hutches, and racing across our yard in the moonlight! Of course it didn't take long for us to take him in. PUZZLE live out a long and happy life with us. We miss his cheerful little face.

Chickens
We maintain a very small flock of 5 - 10 laying hens, to provide us with fresh eggs daily.
