TIBETAN SPANIEL PUPPIES
We do not currently have any upcoming plans for any Tibbie Litters in 2023.
Please be sure to read all of the information below prior to contacting us and then provide us with some information about your interest in one of our Tibetan Spaniels.
Welcome to the page celebrating our beautiful Tibbie Babies!
We strive to provide you with some interesting and helpful information about Tibetan Spaniels, and also keep you updated about our plans for any current or upcoming Tibbie litters here at Briallu. In April we had a beautiful litter of five Tibetan Spaniel puppies who were born at Piper's home in northern South Carolina. We have a sable male puppy from this litter available to selected companion or show home.
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Tibetan Spaniel puppies. Be sure to check out our Tibbie puppy page frequently as we will add more puppy photographs as they grow. We recently had a wonderful litter of Tibetan Spaniel puppies. We are very excited about the these puppies from our beautiful girl Isadora (Briallu Life's a Dance) sired by our handsome and sweet group winning boy Mason (CH. Briallu Bad Moon Rising). We have two sable puppies and three black and tan puppies. As you can see in the photos, the sable coloration starts out very dark when the puppies are born, and lightens as they grow. The black and tan puppies are born looking primarily black, and the tan comes in gradually as they grow. We do not keep a waiting list prior to the birth of a litter, but now it the time for us to begin speaking to people after taking applications in consideration for companion or show homes for these adorable little Tibbies. Some of the puppies have now recently gone on to enhance the livers of their new owners and we currently have one sable male puppy available to a great home. We also may have a young adult Tibbie looking for a wonderful home.
I have included some information you may find useful in your search for a Tibetan Spaniel. I hope that it will provide you with some further insight into the breed, provide information, and questions to ask of any breeders you contact in your search for a good quality Tibetan Spaniel puppy. Simply breeding a litter of puppies, being a member of a club, or being placed on an internet directory of breeders does not assure the quality of a breeder or puppy. You will find that reputable breeders have similar concerns, questionnaires, policies, etc. to help them find wonderful homes for their puppies.
If you are interested in adding a Tibetan Spaniel from us to your family, we ask that you let us know a little bit about yourself and your desire for a Tibbie puppy. Please let us know where you live, if you have previous experience owning a dog, the make-up of your family, and why you chose the Tibetan Spaniel for your companion. We certainly feel that Tibetan Spaniels are wonderful dogs, but like any breed of dog, they are not the right choice for everyone. Each breed of dog has its own inherent breed characteristics which make it more suitable for some people and situations than others. The Tibetan Spaniel is a friendly, smart, and sensitive dog, who can also exhibit a bit of an independent streak. Tibbies thrive on the companionship of the people they love. Tibetan Spaniels need to be contained in a fully fenced yard or walked on a leash when being exercised. Tibbies are wonderful companions and house dogs. We certainly appreciate your sharing some information about yourself. We will then send you a copy of our Tibbie puppy questionnaire for you to fill out and return to help us determine if one of our Tibbies might be a good fit for you and your home. We then will look forward to speaking with you on the phone.
Here are some highlights regarding our dogs and us.
Our Tibetan Spaniels are a very important part of our life. Each of our dogs are house-pets and companions first and foremost, as well as our show dogs. Our dogs play an active role in our family life and are an important part of our household. our dogs all enjoy spending time with us, our children, and grand-children. We have had Tibetan Spaniels for over thirteen years now, though that is a relatively shorter period of time compared to Barbara's 40 years and Piper's lifetime with Welsh Springers. We are enjoying and loving the breed more and more with each passing year. We show our Tibetan Spaniels in AKC conformation shows, and find them to be a wonderful addition in our lives. Between Barbara and Piper, we have exhibited in conformation, obedience, field competition, and junior showmanship over our many years with purebred dogs. We are members of the Tibetan Spaniel Club of America, as well as the local Tibetan Spaniel Club. We have maintained active memberships and served as an officer in several other breed and all-breed clubs over our years involved with dogs.
Our puppies are all raised inside our homes in the company of our family members in either the Pocono Mountains region of northeastern Pennsylvania or in the northern part of South Carolina, depending if the litter is with Barbara or Piper. We love our dogs, and hope for only the best for each of the puppies that we help to bring into this world. We do not breed often, and when we do we take into account the total dog before we decide to do a breeding. We evaluate temperament, type, structure, health, and pedigrees before choosing to breed one of our bitches and selecting a stud dog to whom she will be bred. Our puppies begin going to their new homes after we have thoroughly evaluated the puppies and determined which puppy will be going to each of their select, screened homes. These puppies will be able to begin going to their new homes starting in late June.
We want all of our puppies to have great, loving homes. We make every effort to get to know our prospective puppy people. All prospective owners must fill out our puppy questionnaire. We require that we meet in person as well as have phone conversations, including meeting with or speaking to each of the adult members of the household, prior to placing a puppy. We do not ship puppies. Prospective owners must either drive or fly to pick up their puppy and accompany the puppy on the trip home. We have always maintained these policies to insure that our puppies are being welcomed into loving, dedicated, and caring homes. We strive to provide support and information, and trust that our prospective puppy people will share with us all of their concerns and expectations so that we can help them to have the puppy who will be a wonderful match for them. Meeting our prospective puppy owners in person helps us with this process. We welcome all of your questions. We evaluate all of our puppies throughout their time here with us and spend a great deal of time getting to know them. The puppies are born in our bedroom, which is where they spend their first few weeks. They then move to the family room, where they encounter all of the trappings of our busy family life. They also get to spend time outside in our fenced yard. The puppies begin the housebreaking and crate training process while here with us. The puppies will have been examined by our veterinarian, given their first DAPP vaccinations, and wormed before they go to their new homes. Like many Tibetan Spaniel puppies throughout the world, it is likely that your Tibbie puppy from us will have an umbilical hernia which may or may not need to be surgically closed by your vet when your puppy is neutered or spayed. Most umbilical hernias do not need to be treated, but many veterinarians choose to close them when a Tibbie is spayed or neutered. We require that all of our pet /companion Tibbies be neutered or spayed at an appropriate age. If you are looking for a show puppy who will not be spayed or neutered we require that we maintain a co-ownership so that the dog is registered in both of our names, although it will live his or her life with you as your cherished companion.
We provide a contract with each puppy. Most of our puppies are sold to people who are looking for a pet and companion. All of our pet/companion/performance puppies are sold with an AKC Limited Registration and a spay/neuter agreement. This means they are AKC registered, eligible for all performance events, but not conformation shows, and no offspring are acceptable for AKC registration. Our prospective conformation / performance / companion puppies may be sold on an AKC full registration but will have a co-ownership registration with us and guidelines regarding showing or breeding requirements for their future. We encourage people who are looking to start out in the breed and believe in mentoring or seeing that mentoring is available for those people. Prior to bringing your puppy home, we provide you with infomation regarding supplies needed for your puppy alond with a letter helping you to welcome your new puppy into your home and family. The letter also contains information you need regarding feeding and caring for your puppy as well as their veterinary history. The contracts for all of our puppies address the care, training, and support for the life of the dog.
We hope this information has been helpful to you. We try to cover all of this material in depth when we speak on the phone or meet in person but feel it is helpful to have it in print so that you can refer back to it in the event that you have any questions.
Regards,

On January 7, 2013 Noli presented us with a bouncing baby boy!

Noli (WB/BOW at the 2012 TSCA National Specialty owner-handled by Barbara)
I was out of town for a week when Noli reached her peak days to breed so
she was bred late in her season and I believe that is the reason for the birth of only a single puppy.
Uno is a precious, cute, fluffy, playful, and fun-loving very light sable boy. As difficult as it was to part with him, he has moved on to wonderful new pet and companion home with a very nice family where he will be loved & cherished forever!
We are excited to have repeated this breeding in the summer of 2013!
